To Kill A Mockingbird: Twitter feeds

Ms. Mitchell's Classroom Blog

In To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, one of the most dramatic scenes involves a secret nighttime trip by Scout, Jem, and Dill to the spooky Radley house. However, what starts as a childish prank quickly turns dangerous, eventually culminating in shots being fired and Jem temporarily misplacing his pants.

In order to keep straight the many events of that night, students created fake Twitter feeds from the point of view of one of the characters, providing “live updates” of each new and dramatic development.

Climb Into His Skin…Virtual Reality Trip to the Maycomb Courthouse

I Dream of Learning

“You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view… until you climb into his skin and walk around in it.”

TKAM Shoe Project – Scout

Iran's Thoughts

IMG_3297 This is a picture of a top view of the shoes. I colored the tip of the shoes blue because Scout is a Tomboy and loves to play with boys.

IMG_3298 This is a front view. I added little gems to represent that Scout is the most valuable character.

IMG_3299 This is a side view of the shoes. I added some pictures to represent Scouts memories and some of the people she cared about.

IMG_3300 This is a back view of the shoes. I put question marks because Scout was always thinking and I put Scouts name to represent that they are her shoes.

In the book “To Kill A Mockingbird” Atticus says “You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view–until you climb inside of his skin and walk around in it.” Scout is a funny, loving, caring, and honest person.  Scout never really thought…

Real courage

I wanted you to see what real courage is, instead of getting the idea that courage is a man with a gun in his hand. It’s when you know you’re licked before you begin but you begin anyway and you see it through no matter what. You rarely win, but sometimes you do.
